Pescara guide

Best beaches in Pescara: where to spend a day by the sea

Pescara is an Adriatic seaside city with a long beachfront and a mix of public stretches of sand and equipped beach clubs. If you are visiting for the first time, the best beach for you depends less on a ranking and more on the kind of day you want: your own towel on the sand, or a sunbed in the shade with somewhere to eat nearby?

Prices and availability are shown before you confirm.

Free beach or beach club?

A public beach is a good option if you want a simple stop by the sea: bring everything you need, read the local signs and follow the seasonal rules. If comfort matters, an equipped beach club offers a different experience: a reserved spot, sunbeds, shade and services on site. Facilities, prices and rules vary from one establishment to another, so always check before you go.

What to look for

  • Shade: how much shade you need, especially with children or in the middle of summer.
  • Space: how many people are in your group and how many sunbeds you need.
  • Position: whether you want to be close to the water.
  • Food: whether you plan to have lunch on site.
  • Getting there: walking distance or transport from where you are staying.

During busy summer weeks, it is sensible to check availability before setting off.

A beach day at La Prora

La Prora Estatinfinite is at Lungomare G. Matteotti 46. Its beach has standard umbrellas and larger Palme shade structures, bookable for a single day, and the venue also has two swimming pools, a seafood restaurant, a cocktail bar and beach volleyball courts. Each service has its own booking: pool entry, for example, is paid separately.

See the available set-ups on the beach umbrellas and sunbeds page.

Make the most of your time

Pescara can be a full beach holiday or a seaside stop during a wider Abruzzo trip. Plan around the weather, leave time for a walk along the seafront and enjoy local Adriatic cooking. Travelling with a dog? Read the dog-friendly beach rules first. With children? See Pescara with kids.
